My Photopainings are part painting and part digital collage, they are inspired by the drama and adrenaline of the race track and are based on my own photographs of Formula 1 cars and recordings of their engines.

Each digital photograph is scrutinised for potential shapes, colours and reflections - the raw materials of the future Photopainting. The image is then pushed through a translation process to interpret and abstract the sounds of an engine in visual form.
