Cow Parade

Surrey Cow Parade

Painting a life-sized fibreglass cow was not in my plan for this year but the thing about being an artist is the surprising things that land in your lap. I was commissioned by the Mayor of Guildford to paint a cow for the Surrey Cow Parade, a big public art event of the kind held in cities and provinces all over the world.

The brief was to respond to the mayoral theme of innovation. I decided to base my design on the neuron and create a pattern that mimicked a neural network, where ideas and innovation originate. I cracked out my lovely pink spray gun and metres of masking tape and tackled the largest paint job of my career so far!
