Bloodstone Cocktail Ring
A bold bloodstone cocktail ring in sterling silver. A dramatic addition to your jewellery collection with a rich, dark bloodstone cabochon at its core. It is hand-forged from one piece of silver, and as a result, feels fantastic on your finger. This bloodstone cocktail ring has a circular domed cabochon stone with a flat bottom, an exciting dark twist on the cocktail ring. I never make the same thing twice; consequently, this ring is unique.
Inspired by Music and Synaesthesia
I am synaesthetic, which is a neurological trait where my senses cross. Therefore I have a strong visual impression of shape, colour, movement and sometimes texture when I hear music. This bloodstone cocktail ring is inspired by what I see when I listen to an electric guitar. Electric guitar is silver, greys and whites and is represented here by the sterling silver. The dark green bloodstone is the same colour that I see when I hear bass guitar playing. It’s smooth shape also reflects the more rounded shapes I see in the bass. A contrast to the lightning-like shapes I see in electric guitar.

Recycled Silver
Mining silver is an environmentally invasive process, so I use recycled silver in all my work. The sterling silver I used to make this bloodstone cocktail ring comes from old and broken silverware and cutlery. Consequently, I can eliminate the need for newly mined silver in my work. I melted a piece of old silverware down. Then I hand forged the resulting ingot of molten silver into this bloodstone cocktail ring.
