Stunning Silver Ring
A hand forged silver ring in an unusual style to sit comfortably on your finger. Plenty of drama, but no fuss with this bold curling design. This ring is hand forged from one piece of silver, and as a result, it is flowing and curled like the guitar playing that inspired it. I never make the same thing twice consequently this silver ring is a one-off piece. This bold ring is number 30 from my ongoing series of unique hand sculpted jewellery.
Music As Inspiration
I am synaesthetic which is a neurological trait where the senses are crossed. Therefore I have a strong visual impression of shape, colour, movement and sometimes texture when I hear music. This ring is inspired by what I see when I listen to music. As a result, the curling shapes in this silver ring are little snippets of electric guitar music made tangible by my synaesthesia. Hence this large ring billows and twists in response to crackled and distorted electric guitar playing. Recycled Silver
The sterling silver I used to make this ring is recycled from old and broken silverware and cutlery. Consequently, this eliminates the need for newly mined silver in my work. I melted a piece of old silverware down. Then I hand forged the resulting ingot of molten silver into this bold and free-form ring.
