Stylish Silver Ring
A silver ring in an unusual style made to sit comfortably on your finger. Two neat curls form the detail of this ring. It is hand-forged from one piece of silver, and as a result, it is a flowing design like the guitar playing that inspired it. I never make the same thing twice consequently this silver ring is a one-off piece. This bold ring is number 31 from my ongoing series of unique hand sculpted rings.
Inspired by Music and Synaesthesia
I am synaesthetic which is a neurological trait where the senses are crossed. Therefore I have a strong visual impression of shape, colour, movement and sometimes texture when I hear music. This ring is inspired by what I see when I listen to music. As a result, the shapes in this silver ring are little snippets of electric guitar music made visible by my synaesthesia. Hence this satisfying mid-sized ring twists in response to crackled and distorted electric guitar playing. Recycled Silver
The sterling silver I used to make this ring is recycled from old and broken silverware and cutlery. Consequently, this eliminates the need for newly mined silver in my work. I melted a piece of old silverware down. Then I hand forged the resulting ingot of molten silver into this bold and free-form ring.
Who Is This Ring For?
This ring is for a woman who likes a sculptural style but does not want a huge ring. An adventurous heart who chooses her individual path and as a result wants to show her individuality with the jewellery she wears.
