Statement Silver Ring
A huge, statement silver ring made for flamboyant days when you need to feel totally on it. It is hand-forged from one piece of luscious thick silver, and as a result, feels fantastic on your finger. I never make the same thing twice consequently this statement silver ring is a one-off piece. This super-bold ring is number 6 from my ongoing series of unique hand sculpted rings.
Inspired by Music and Synaesthesia
I am synaesthetic which is a neurological trait where my senses cross. Therefore I have a strong visual impression of shape, colour, movement and sometimes texture when I hear music. Unusually my synaesthetic response to the billowing and rounded sound of a bass guitar inspired this ring. As a result, the shapes in this statement silver ring are little snippets of bass guitar music made visible by my synaesthesia. Hence this statement silver ring flows and scoops in response to the deep and funky sounds of bass guitar playing.

Recycled Silver
Mining silver is an environmentally invasive process, so I use recycled silver in all my work. The sterling silver I used to make this ring comes from old and broken silverware and cutlery. Consequently, I can eliminate the need for newly mined silver in my work. I melted a piece of old silverware down. Then I hand forged the resulting ingot of molten silver into this bold statement silver ring. This ring has a full UK Hallmark which guarantees it is sterling silver.
