Golden Topaz Silver Ring
An elegant golden topaz ring in sterling silver. It has bold curls and a sunny golden topaz at its core. It is hand-forged from one piece of silver, and as a result, feels fantastic on your finger. This golden topaz is a natural uncut stone and an exciting twist on the more usual blue topaz. I never make the same thing twice; consequently, this ring is unique.
Inspired by Music and Synaesthesia
I am synaesthetic, which is a neurological trait where my senses cross. Therefore I have a strong visual impression of shape, colour, movement and sometimes texture when I hear music. This golden topaz and silver ring is inspired by what I see when I listen to an electric guitar. Mostly electric guitar is silver, but it often contains flashes of other colours, often rich golds and sharp yellows which is why I have included golden topaz nestling in the silver of this ring. As a result, the shapes in this unique silver ring are little snippets of guitar playing made visible by my synaesthesia.

Recycled Silver
Mining silver is an environmentally invasive process, so I use recycled silver in all my work. The sterling silver I used to make this golden topaz ring comes from old and broken silverware and cutlery. Consequently, I can eliminate the need for newly mined silver in my work. I melted a piece of old silverware down. Then I hand forged the resulting ingot of molten silver into this golden topaz and silver ring.
